RECLAIM
OUR Future
See Things Differently.
Had enough of climate inaction and environmental destruction? Exhausted by populist politics? Tired of social injustice and exclusion?
We turn cutting-edge insights from cognitive neuroscience into simple, practical and powerful tools and techniques to help transform the way you think.
WHY THE BRAIN?
Our biological brains are responsible for everything we think, feel, perceive, say, create, do, imagine, invent or believe. Individually and collectively, our brains are the seat of our hopes and aspirations. How we use them is both the source of most of our problems as well as the potential solutions. They are the ultimate drivers of either stagnation or innovation at every level.
But our brains are locked away inside a black box (our skulls), reliant upon sensory data (sight, smell, sound, etc.) to gather information about the world around us. From this, they elicit and generate patterns, narratives, scenarios and predictions to infer how the world works and our place within it.
This astonishingly complex process occurs automatically under the surface most of the time, unnoticed, unchallenged and unhindered. But through understanding the underlying mechanisms at play, we are able to ‘hack into’ their functioning. This provides us with the opportunity to generate the novel connections, solutions and self-directed change that are the heart of personal, professional, organisational, technological and societal innovation and creativity.
This goes far beyond merely learning a new ‘skill’. When you change the way you understand and use your brain, you change everything.
Ultimately, how we choose to harness the power of our brains—both individually and collectively — will play the central role in shaping our future. And when we take a look around, it’s clear that humanity needs some new ideas right now!
WHAT OTHERS SAY
The words we most often hear are ‘surprising’ and ‘practical’. Here are just a few pieces of other feedback we have got.
Brain Tools and techniques
While our brains are astonishingly complex, our tools and techniques are simple. They allow you to change the way you think by activating different neural circuitry and modes, tapping into and reconfiguring resources that were always there.
No ‘gadgets, apps, substances, super-natural powers or magical thinking’ are required; just a curiosity to explore how your natural, biological brain works. Nothing could be more important right now as we seek to understand the profound implications of Artificial Intelligence which are coming our way.
It’s not that one mode of thinking is superior to another. Rather, it is about having the agility to be able to switch between different approaches according to the task at hand.
After all, if you only have a hammer, every problem starts to look like a nail. In a rapidly changing world, wouldn’t you rather have the versatility of a Swiss army knife?
